Kind Regards

Thoughts krbylw Kind Regards by Liz Williams, Michael O’Mara Books Limited 2012, 186 pages

“To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”   -Phyllis Theroux

A friend gave this book to me for Christmas. She and I write to each other often. We have much in common and I hold her in high esteem. She lives in the far away state of Colorado. She also sent a book about beer. She has given me lobster things in the past. I have sent her kite-shaped Little Debbie snacks: kite-brownies Tis likely time for me to think of something else fun to send her . But mostly we send cards and letters.

“Life would split apart without letters.”   -Virginia Woolf

Kind Regards is small wonderful little book that shares the history of sending letters, amusing examples from famous people, quotes, and a few tips for writing thank yous to sympathy notes. A perfect gift for someone like me!

  1. I think I mentioned to you once how surprised my daughter is when I get a letter and not bills. I keep in contact with lots of people but all through email or FB, Some go back 25-30 years but the letter writing is few and far between.

  2. This sounds fun! Maybe next year for me. I used to write a fair amount of letters a long time ago, but my two most faithful correspondents were my grandmother and a friend from high school. My grandmother died when I was a few years out of college and a few years after that, I married the friend from high school! I kept up correspondence with an out-of-state relative for many more years, but mostly correspondence dropped to annual Christmas cards, and then, not even that, with most people. I think you’ve inspired me to write to my out-of-state kids this month with this post!
