Lit Flick Challenge

I’m ALL OVER THIS!   Sign me up!

Thank you to Jessica of The Bluestocking Society for creating this!   I had actually toyed with the idea of doing this very thing – but different.  And so, I will do the twist I envisioned as part of my participation in this challenge.

What am I talking about?    A new challenge to read the book then watch the movie, of course!

The Lit Flicks Challenge

and my particular commitment will involve OSCAR WINNING films.   I had even started to create a spreadsheet of these but then Jessica seems to have all the adequate links to figure this out…  so go there!

My picks will be based on those Best Picture winners that I have missed somehow over the years.   The movie and the book it was adapted from:

1931 Cimarron based on the book by Edna Ferber

1951 All About Eve based (uncredited!) on The Wisdom of Eve by Mary Orr

1970 Midnight Cowboy based on novel by James Leo Herlihy

Of books already in my tbr that might apply –>  I could commit to see the movie My Sister’s Keeper  if it is released in time, and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.

I’ll have to spend a little more time to decide what else, although I am certain The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro will be among the titles.
