Weekly Geek Week SEVEN

Wow, we’ve been at this seven weeks now, already.     The theme is PHOTOS and so I snapped a few for you.

First, is the most obvious to me what I do that combines books and blogging so I took a shot at my PC with this blog on the screen and to show what I’m reading right now.   Yes, I’m still working on the Einstein bio but I also treated myself to a few books while I ran errands on Saturday.   Besides Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, I bought John Knowles’ A Separate Peace for my personal challenge to read some of Chartroose’s favorites.

So, maybe I really CAN read two books at the same time!   Honestly, I expect to get the Ishiguro book done today.     In the pic, you will also see my reading glasses which I hate needing but I do.

The second photo is where I spent a few hours yesterday reading this book and where I will go to read some more as soon as I post this.    The last photo is the view of my backyard from the chair I will be sitting in.   I’ll be drinking some sun-tea, no sugar.   It’s very hot today in Massachusetts, a stifling humid hot, in the low 90s (I hope it’s LOW!   They may be expecting the record to be broken today or tomorrow.)   I try not to complain about the weather.     It’s not like I don’t have central air to escape into if I want.

I’ll be back after I visit the official Weekly Geek site to add some links to other geek blogs.    The whole POINT of all this, is to make some more book-geek-friends, ya know.

OK.  I’m back.   I visited a few sites that already had tons of comments so I kept looking.   and I’m not done!  I’m sure I’ll be back to many before the week is out.

Go to Book Addict for Life and count all the ways this blogger is into books!

Biblio Brat has a terrific rating system explanation at the top of the blog.

Trouble with Pictures

I attempted to incorporate this photo 100_4798.jpg  into the last post but it wouldn’t be put where I wanted it put.   So, I’m creating a separate post…

I like to have a goal for a souvenir every time I travel.   Gives me something specific to shop for, a purpose, if you will.    This last trip, I hoped to find a cool chain from which to hang my reading glasses on so I wouldn’t have to keep looking for the last place I placed them!   This had been getting troublesome, of late.

So, not only did I find the ‘chain’, I found new reading glasses!    This pic probably doesn’t do justice, but I’m enjoying these quirky, whimsical hot pink frames with 1.25+ magnification (why did I buy glasses from the Eye Doc?!)    These are really working out for me.

The chain is of small dark and muted, almost dusty, purple beads.   Nothing too bling-bling.    Nice.
