Just a quick note that I will be in and out with possibly NO internet access and will be back to announce the winner of Popular Music from Vittula (contest here) and then out again – so it may be June before I blog at ya again.
Do have fun this weekend, read lots of books, cook out & drink a cold beverage, and laugh often. May you have sunshine and pleasant temperatures whereever you go.

The books I’m taking: Trigonometry for Dummies, Dennis Lehane’s The Given Day, Alison Weir’s Eleanor of Aquitaine, The Geography of Bliss by Eric Wiener, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, The Awakening / Kate Chopin, Wm Gibson’s Neuromancer, and The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara.
and probably Pillars of the Earth – if I can remember where I put it…

I can’t say I’m terribly jealous of the Trig books.
You have a great weekend, and we’ll see you when you get back!

Enjoy your long weekend Care!! Us canucks had ours last week, but this is looking to be a beautiful weekend too. Temps are hitting the high 20s and the leaves have finally started peeking out of the tree buds.
I’m hoping you possibly forget the trig books at home, long weekends are meant for fun and frivolous reading! Unless this is your thing — sin(a+b.sin(a+b)+p.sin(a+b).cos(a+b)+q.cos(a+b).cos(a+b)=q — then rock on
Looks like fun! Enjoy all of that reading.
(I’m laughing at the trig book)
Great stack of books. Hope you get to something besides trig.
Have fun Care! I am sure going to enjoy the Sun in Denver CO! Where ever you are enjoy every minute even if you are reading a book on Trig!!!
Enjoy your weekend. I so wanted to go kayaking this weekend; I just don’t think that it’s ever going to stop raining!!
The Geography of Bliss and the Sherman Alexie book sound especially good. Happy reading, and have a great weekend!
I’m going to veg out this weekend, since I’ve been too busy to think lately. Have a great weekend!
Have a wonderful weekend Care! I look forward to reading your updates upon your return.
I hope you have a great time!
Since Memorial Day is the official start of tourist season (and therefore vacation and summer) math is not allowed on your vacation.
And if you’re going to be on a boat, rumor has it that trig books get seasick.
trig? are you looking for a sleep aid? enjoy the holiday weekend.
Have a wonderful time!!! And you have the most important thing ready — books to read!
Hi Jenners! How’s the twitting going? I think I need to go set to follow you… I have yet to read more than 5 pages in the boat. Since it’s Sunday am right now, I’ve got a fast internet connection so I’m playing on the laptop…
The Absolutely True Diary is hilarious. Have fun!
Have a wonderful, wonderful time, Care! What an awesome looking pile of books! Can I just push The Killer Angels again? Sorry, but it is just soooo good.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! And enjoy the reading. Neuromancer is an interesting read–one that I don’t think I “got” the first time but would like to revisit one day.
Had a splendid Mem weekend myself. Hope yours was as well. I did read, I really did!
Can’t wait to read your review of the trig book! LOL WHY do you have that one??
The only one on your stack I’ve read is The Awakening.. read that as our ‘classics’ choice with my old book club years ago- the club that never talked about the books because half the people didn’t read them! But I was in the half that DID read and wanted to talk. Read that. Let’s talk.
Hope to read The Given Day soon; it’s a hefty one!
Yea, I’m intimidated by page length and sometimes I don’t even notice it – like The Blind Assassin? I didn’t realize how long it was and it just flew. and I still have to conquer Pillars of the Earth. sigh.
