I decided to spend one total solid hour reading! So, from 1:05 to 2:05 pm, I sat and turned 55 pages.
I know, not nearly the pace Eva sets but she’s the gold standard, right?! congrats to all of you who have read over 100 pages.
My dog is not happy with my plans for the day. The pic above shows Oscar stealing the book away from me in order to prevent my ignoring him…

Aw, your dog is so cute!! Keep up the great work!
Oscar is adorable. He looks ready to boot that book off the deck though. lol. He and Buddy should spend the day being unhappy together and leave us in peace to read.
I love the summary of your day so far. It’s hoot! And so real. I’ve read just one book so far b/c of things just like you’ve listed . . . basically, I wasn’t sure I could put ALL of life on hold to read on a Saturday. But it has been so fun! Hope you break the 100 page standard soon.
I was worried that you couldn’t link to my contest! The web address to the actual blog is http://readinginappalachia.blogspot.com/2009/04/help-by-kathryn-stockett-review-and.html
if cutting and pasting it to your browser helps.
I haven’t broken the 100 page marker yet either. Glad I’m not alone
You’re doing fab with your reading! Our dogs have given up and gone to take naps. Although the hubs was being a dork earlier – I was sitting on the sofa reading and he threw a squeaky toy at me. Raimi our border collie took off like his butt was on fire and vaulted the coffee table, landing on top of me. Hubs continued doing this for nearly 10 minutes until he threw the squeaky toy and knocked the drink I was holding which completely drenched me (o.O) Needless to say hubs is now having supper at his mother’s house (with our youngest son). I deserve a little quiet time after that little escapade
Good luck and have fun reading!
You are too cute Care! I love your dog! I love that he knows during the RAT you are unavailable to him!!! I love it! Hope the reading is going great! Keep it up!
